DENIAL FIEND Guitarist Issues Album Recording Update

June 10, 2007

DENIAL FIEND, the Tampa, Florida-based band featuring in its ranks Terry Butler (SIX FEET UNDER, ex-MASSACRE, ex-DEATH),Kam Lee (ex-MASSACRE, ex-MANTAS),Curt Beeson (NASTY SAVAGE, LOWBROW) and Sam Williams (DOWN BY LAW, PSEUDO HEROES),recently entered GL Studios in Brandon, Florida to begin recording its debut album, "They Rise". Williams has issued the following update:

"This weekend we finished with drum tracks. Curt was really quick with his takes, which is always nice. We also did a bit of filming for the video portion of the release. Today we started on guitar overdubs. I plan on recording several rhythm tracks, which is something a little different for me. To try and keep clarity, two of the tracks will be a stereo version of a single performance. Then there will be two mono tracks of the same rhythm, but from two other performances. Hopefully this will keep notes clear and defined to some degree, while still adding a bit of heaviness. The rig for this track consisted of a stock Ibanez RG550 (20th Anniversary edition) into a Boss ME 50 multi effects pedal, into a custom 1X12, 50 watt tube amp (basically a handwired JCM800). The next track will be done through a Randall RM100M stack and my custom V from Frankenstein Guitars."

DENIAL FIEND's "Dead Awakening" 7" EP was released on May 21 through Ibex Moon Records. The EP consists of two alternate versions of the tracks "They Rise" and "Cover Me in Blood", which will appear on the band's upcoming full-length, to be released this fall. The pressing is limited to a mere 500 copies.
